National Expert Promotes New Strategies for True Healing
New "Wholeistic" Healing Project Designed to Help People Find Peace, True Healing.
SPOKANE, WA / October 15 / EmpoweringSites.com -- The world is suffering from a major health crisis and the solution is not a pill but for people to find true and complete healing, according to a national expert and author on healing trauma.
"We just marked World Mental Health Day and, sadly, we are the unhealthiest we have EVER been. We are hurting physically, mentally, and spiritually because of the accumulation of past trauma we have experienced," states Dr. Randall S. Hansen, Ph.D., adding: "We are in the largest public health crisis we have ever experienced -- at a time when we should be able to be living our best lives.
"The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimates that 50 percent of Americans will be diagnosed with a mental health problem or disorder during their lifetime; worldwide, 280 million people suffer from depression, while 264 million suffer with anxiety disorder.
Over the last two decades, the U.S. has seen a large increase in the long-term use of anxiolytics and antidepressant medications. According to statistics, about 1 in 5 people in the U.S. are on at least one antidepressant medication.
Earlier this year, the United States Surgeon General Dr. Vivek Murthy released an unprecedented advisory calling attention to the public health crisis of loneliness, isolation, and lack of connection in our country, labeling it an "epidemic of loneliness and isolation."These untreated traumas can poison people in adult life, according to Dr. Hansen, greatly affecting a person's well-being -- often leading to depression, anxiety, panic attacks, substance abuse and addiction, stress eating, agitation, confusion, numbness, and dissociation. It can also lead to acting out, putting the individual and others in dangerous situations.
"People may think they have put their trauma 'in the past,' but all trauma leaves hidden traces within us -- regardless of how well we think we have dealt with all the issues," states Dr. Hansen. "Trauma can actually change the structure of our brains, but healing can be truly transformative."
Dr. Hansen's new book, HEAL! Wholeistic Practices to Help Clear Your Trauma, Heal Yourself, and Live Your Best Life, discusses six proven strategies for healing. "These techniques help people get to the root of their trauma, unlike prescription medications, most of which simply mask symptoms," states Dr. Hansen. These healing techniques/modalities include:
Psychedelics
Spirituality
Somatic/Body
Nature
Breathwork
Nutrition
Besides detailed information on each healing modality, the book also includes 10 healing journey stories, tips for finding healers and coaches, and other healing advice and resources. The book is available for presale on Amazon and other booksellers.
